As a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic we have had to make changes to our service. We will keep this page up to date with information on our opening hours, services and any other essential information during this time.


In line with Government guidelines, we are able to offer table service within the cafe. Due to social distancing guidelines, we are operating with limited capacity and highly recommend reserving a table. This can be done through our facebook page (@PuffingBillyTradingCo) or by calling 01805 623050.

Opening hours:

9.30 – 16.30: Six days a week (Closed Wednesday), food served until 16.00.

Evening takeaway services:

We are currently offering an evening takeaway service on the following nights:

Friday: Fish and Chips – menu may change, please contact us for up to date details

Sunday: Roast lunch/dinner (choice of two meats and a nut roast, varies each week) – £8.00 (Adult), £5.50 (Child). Choice of desserts also available on request.

Meals must be pre-ordered. We allocate food collection times by 15mins time slots to ensure that people are able to social distance when collecting food.

Payment: We ask for payment either over the phone prior to collection.

Ordering: You can order either via phone 01805 623050, through our facebook page (@PuffingBillyTradingCo), or in person during cafe opening hours.

Collection: Evening takeaway meals will be available at your allocated time slot from the hot unit in the front porch.

Social distancing measures

As a hospitality business we take food hygiene and health and safety seriously. All of our staff have up to date food hygiene certificates, however during this challenging time we have implemented a number of additional precautions and measures to ensure our staff and customers remain safe. This includes:

Entry: Please wait to be seated at the entrance. We ask that only one group enter the cafe at a time, and that if you are waiting you respect recommendations of waiting 2m apart outside the cafe.

Track and trace: As is required by law, you will be asked to either scan the track and trace QR on arrival in the cafe, or alternatively, if you do not have a mobile phone, to record your contact details with a member of staff.

Masks: As is required by Government recommendations, all customers, excluding anyone who is exempt, are required to wear masks as all times within the cafe, except when seated at your table.

Screens: We have a perspex screen fitted at the takeaway service counter. Where the 2m rule is not possible to ensure distancing between customers, we have also installed screens between tables.

Payment: We ask, where possible, for payment to be made via contactless card payment.

Hand sanitiser: Sanitising gel is available for customers to use. This is located at the entrance.

Risk assessment: We have completed a workplace risk assessment, which is available for customers to see upon request.
